In the Florida Keys, the most commonly known clingfish species is the Gobiesox strumosus, also called the skilletfish. These small, dark-colored fish are typically found clinging to rocks, inside shells, and other underwater structures, particularly in the oyster reefs. They are known for their unique shape, resembling a cast iron skillet, and the sucker-like apparatus they use to attach themselves to surfaces.
