First 60 minutes
Acclimation Guide
Your animals just spent the night in a dark box. Lights off, patience on — here's the routine we use on the farm.
Corals
- Float sealed bags 15 minutes to match temperature.
- Dip every coral (we recommend our Coral Dip Concentrate) for 5–10 minutes, swirling gently. Never dip the plug glue-side down.
- Place low in the tank under reduced light for the first day; move to the final spot over a week.
Fish
- Float 15 minutes, then drip acclimate 30–45 minutes.
- Net the fish into the tank — never pour bag water in.
- Keep lights dim for the rest of the day.
Inverts & clean-up crew
- Drip acclimate 45–60 minutes — inverts are the most sensitive to salinity swings of anything in the box.
- Place snails foot-down on the rock; they'll do the rest.
